Hmmm... trying to think of the best and most succinct way to tell this story. It's hard because there was a long complicated wind up that is sort of necessary to understand before the full effect can be understood. I will break it into a couple of smaller chapters.
Chapter 1 - Moving to the US and meeting Quentin
I won't write more than the heading, it's 5 years worth of history. It ends with us getting a house in Valley Stream, NY and moving in together. After getting sick of contracting and working from home I apply for a new job.
Chapter 2 - New Job!
I get the job! So happy! So I start to organise my trip overseas to get my new US visa. I book my flights and make all the arrangements. A couple of days before leaving I don't have the approved paperwork. So after much thought I wear the cost in the flight change and delay my trip and rebook my interview at the embassy in London. Three days before I'm about to leave and still no paperwork, and then to make things worse, hurricane Irene. Flights out of JFK are all cancelled, I change my flight again. We lose power for 3 days I just leave anyway and get on a plane finally to London with one document missing. My interview is 9am the next morning. So I arrive in London get to the hotel, call my lawyer, she ensures me that I will have the document by 10pm NY time. Which is like 3am in London. I will have to hope that it arrives this time and get it printed at the hotel when I wake up. Turns out this works and then everything else goes fine. My visa is approved. So now I have like 2 weeks to stuff around in the UK with my mates.
Chapter 3 - London is funtimes
Yep, I love going there. The most fun. Lots of pub times and shopping. That's pretty much all I did this time around. I did most touristing last time. But I was running out of money and I was excited to start work. I was staying with my friends Jimmy and Bec. While I was there they closed on a house, that evening I cancelled my previous plans so I could help celebrate. I met them at a pub in South London, "Captain Kidd". Many drinks were had, and I think I had a toad in a hole for dinner, delicious.
Watch the video below for the rest. Yes I had no idea, I was very much in shock.
The end of the story is that for all the times that I was stressed pulling out my hair and changing flights, Quentin was having to do the same, in secret.

What a nuns!
Indeed he is. He Is so charming in the video and I'm a loud, drunken, surprised, lout. Sigh.
I just saw this for the first time, OMG even better than the story. Favorite moment Quentin saying "she isn't answering!" with just a little bit of panic in his voice. Classic Quentin!
